Born in December 1956, Abdul Hamid Ibrahim Al Hossani is a trailblazing Emirati coach, the first to successfully lead a national team to qualify and excel on the continental stage. His ability to nurture local talent and prepare teams in an exceptional manner has been instrumental in his teams' success. His influence extends beyond the club level, as he also took on technical roles with the national teams in the UAE and the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Notably, Al Wasl Club entrusted Al Hossani with the responsibility of being a pivotal figure in UAE basketball, appointing him as the national basketball coach from 2005 to 2009. Under his leadership, the team clinched numerous local championships and secured bronze medals in the Asian competition.
