The Ministry honors journalists

In line with our wise leadership’s approach, Ministry of Sports honored the two experienced media professionals, Rifaat Bahiri and Diaa Al-Din Ali, in recognition of their abundant media journey, which spanned four decades. The honoring ceremony was attended by H.E. Saeed Abdul Ghaffar Hussein, the Ministry of Sports Secretary-General, Khaled Issa Al Midfaa, the Ministry of Sports Assistant Secretary-General, Abdulaziz Ahmed Buhendi, Director of the Ministry of Sports' Office in the Eastern Region, Abdullah Ibrahim - President of the Sports Media Association, Mohammed Al Joker, Secretary General of the Association, and a number of the Ministry of Sports’ officials. H.E. Saeed Abdul Ghaffar praised the honorees’ efforts and their role in enriching the journalistic work and dedicating their expertise to support various games of Emirati sports, including the Ministry of Sports activities and all sectors under its umbrella. Abdul Ghaffar praised their excellence in employing constructive criticism for the benefit of athletes and teams in order to achieve best results: “We follow in the footsteps of our wise leadership to honor and appreciate efforts of distinguished, innovative and sincere figures. The two honored had their influence in the sports media process.” For his part, Abdullah Ibrahim, President of the Association, praised the Ministry of Sports’ initiative, which included honoring two of sports media pioneers in the UAE, complimenting his two colleagues on their dedicated efforts, and wishing them success in all their endeavors. For their part, the two celebrated colleagues expressed their thanks and appreciation to the Ministry of Sports officials for this generous gesture, which confirms their belief in the importance of the media role, and wished sports in Zayed’s land of good all progress and prosperity. At the end of the ceremony, H.E. Abdul Ghaffar presented a commemorative shield to the two celebrated colleagues, and a group photo was taken.
